Code of Conduct

Swift Dubai is dedicated to providing a safe, inclusive, and harassment-free experience for everyone in our community, regardless of background.

1. Our Standards

We expect all meetup participants, speakers, sponsors, volunteers, and organizers to act with respect, empathy, and professionalism.

Examples of behavior that contributes to a positive environment:

  • Using welcoming and inclusive language.
  • Being respectful of differing viewpoints and experiences.
  • Gracefully accepting constructive criticism.
  • Focusing on what is best for the community as a whole.
  • Showing empathy and kindness towards other community members.

2. Unacceptable Behavior

Harassment, discrimination, and exclusionary behavior will not be tolerated. This applies to both physical meetups and our online chat channels (WhatsApp, Discord, etc.).

Examples of unacceptable behavior include:

  • Verbal or physical comments related to gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, race, religion, or age.
  • Inappropriate use of sexual images or physical contact.
  • Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or harassing speakers or attendees.
  • Sustained disruption of talks, presentations, or Q&A sessions.
  • Advocating for, or encouraging, any of the above behaviors.

3. Reporting & Enforcement

If you experience or witness harassment, or have any concerns about safety and inclusion within Swift Dubai, please reach out to our organizing team immediately.

👤 Or speak directly to our team organizers (Abhi or volunteers) wearing organizing badges at the check-in desk during any meetup.

All reports will be treated with confidentiality. Organizers have the authority to take action, including warnings, temporary suspensions, or permanent banishment from Swift Dubai meetups without refund or warnings.

This Code of Conduct is adapted from the Contributor Covenant, version 2.0, available at https://www.contributor-covenant.org/version/2/0/code_of_conduct.html, and matches best-practice standards set by global iOS communities (SwiftLeeds, try! Swift).
